1981 Rickenbacker 4001 White bass guitar
1977 Rickenbacker 4001!
Excellent 100% Original in FireGlo!
Cheap Worldwide Shipping!
ITEM: For your consideration is this vintage 1977 Rickenbacker 4001 electric bass guitar. This particularly nice example is in excellent all original condition, and looks quite attractive in the original and classic Fireglo finish. The iconic 4001 has been famously used by all of the bass greats, including: Paul McCartney, Roger Waters, Geddy Lee and Chris Squire. This all original example displays a neck fracture near the headstock, which was professionally repaired sometime ago. And while this does not affect the sound, functionality, or structural integrity of the bass, it definitely affects it's value. So, make sure to place a bid, because the highest bidder wins regardless of price!
We are offering this bass with an absolute blowout No Reserve/$.01 Minimum auction, with FREE U.S. shipping and a cheap Worldwide shipping price of $99!
This bass, serial number QG 3145, is in 100% all original condition, and includes: an original Fireglo cherry sunburst finish over a solid maple body, a neck-through construction, a 33.25" scale length, (2) classic single-coil pickups, original tuning machines, a Ric tailpiece/bridge system, triangle fret markers, Mono and Stereo output jacks and the original pickup cover. The bass does not include a case.
While the headstock fracture is a very serious issue, please note that the headstock and neck were never broken. Rather, a traumatic force caused he neck to split along the fingerboard. Please see pics for closeups.
Aside from the headstock/neck fracture, the bass is in otherwise excellent condition. Displaying only minimal signs of playing wear, and no usual belt buckle abuse on the back of the body, the bass looks beautiful. Other than some very minor playing wear (from a makeshift thumb rest position) above the fingerboard on the bass side of the, and several very small dings on the top, sides and back, this bass is in very excellent cosmetic condition condition.
Famous for substantial sustain and quintessential punchy presence, this bass works perfectly and sounds amazing. Both pickups sound great, as the two are surprisingly rich and warm. The medium-sized slim neck profile feels very comfortable, as the action is super low all the way up to the 20th fret. Both truss rods work, and the neck is perfectly straight. All of the controls have been individually tested, and are guaranteed not to scratch or be interrupted by intermittence. The bass is also evenly balanced, and does not feel awkward while playing on your knee sans strap. The bass weighs 9 pounds and 6 ounces, and is a real pleasure to play.
The white pickguard is perfectly intact, which is good because they often crack around the bass pickup. One of the 4 original control knobs is missing the "Bass Tone" metal insert. Remember this bass does not come with a case.
Please be sure to see our many (nearly 50) images to your right, all of which are of the actual bass.
This is a great opportunity to buy that vintage Ric bass you've been dreaming of, without having to break the bank.
